Men’s Soccer Drops Home Contest to Presbyterian

SPARTANBURG S.C. – After grabbing an early lead, the Wofford men's soccer team dropped a hard-fought match, 2-3, to Presbyterian after playing the final 68 minutes of the match down a player due to a red card.
 
The Terriers were able to get the offense rolling early after Jackson Wrobel netted his third goal of the season off a pass from Jakob Anderson, giving Wofford an early 1-0 lead at the 10-minute mark.
 
Presbyterian was able to tie the game at the 21:14 mark after a penalty kick goal by Gerard Lopez. The foul also resulted in a red card on the Terriers, giving the Blue Hose the extra player advantage for the remainder of the match.
 
Shortly after, the Blue Hose struck again off the foot of Nile Nguidjol, giving Presbyterian a 2-1 lead. The score remained the same at the half.
 
The Terriers didn't back down in the second half, as Moa Mohammedi scored the equalizing goal at the 50:59 mark off a pass from Jackson Wrobel.
 
Presbyterian was able to break through late after Vidar Ragnarsson scored off a corner kick pass from Niklas Hoener.
 
Wofford had chances in the closing minutes, with one final look as time was expiring, but a team save sealed the win for the Blue Hose.
 
The loss drops Wofford's record to 2-4 on the season.
