Michael J Fox opens up about his Parkinson’s diagnosis

Michael J Fox spoke about living with Parkinson's in a moving interview on This Morning.

The 59-year-old acting legend appeared on the ITV show to discuss his book, No Time Like the Future: An Optimist Considers Mortality.

Michael, who played the iconic Marty McFly in Back To The Future, was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 1991, and went public with his diagnosis in 1998.

Ruth Langsford asked about when Michael first noticed signs of having Parkinson's.

The Hollywood actor explained: "Well it was strange, I thought I had some kind of sports injury. I had a sore left shoulder and twitching in my left pinky [finger], and it wouldn't stop."

"I thought it was a nuisance, I didn't think it was anything substantial", the actor continued.

Michael explained he went to see a neurologist, and after tests, they confirmed he had early onset Parkinson's.

He added that he was originally told by the neurologist he would be lucky to work 10 more years due to his condition, but he proved that prediction to be incorrect.
