Comedian Chris Rock made an return to the stage following the Oscars 2022 incident which saw him get slapped by Will Smith.

Chris appeared in Boston on Wednesday (March 30) where he was performing two stand-up shows.

He addressed the situation with him telling the audience that he is still "processing" what happened, says CNN.

An emotional Chris said with tears in his eyes as he appeared on the stage: "Let me be all misty and s***."

In his first public appearance he was greeted by the audience with back-to-back standing ovations, lasting several minutes.

Chris asked the audience: "How was your weekend?", to which they chuckled.

He added: "I don't have a bunch of s*** to say about [the incident], so if you came here for that ... I had written a whole show before this weekend.

"I'm still processing what happened. At some point I'll talk about that s***. It'll be serious. It'll be funny but right now I'm going to tell some jokes."
