Description

A Mediterranean Pine with a pyramidal shape. A slow-growing tree used for timber.

The male cones drop off after shedding their pollen. The mature seed cone (female) is roundish in shape, shiny, yellowish brown or pale brown.

Flowers

No true flowers, instead it produces male and female cones.

Leaves

Needle leaf is narrow, pointed, like a needle, e.g. Pinus. In pairs in tight groups, 6-18 cm long.

Fruits Seeds

Cone: male pollen cone is golden yellow in colour, female seed cone is reddish, 5 mm long.
