Description
A most unusual form of this popular bulbous shrub, difficult to get and so sought after. Plants form striking focal points – leaves are without a leaf blade and flowering stems are thus more conspicuous than in its sister plant, S. reginae. Orange flowers tuck amongst the tips of leaves (above them in S. reginae) from autumn spring. Plants grow slowly to a mature height of 1.5 m with a similar spread. This species is listed as vulnerable in the wild.
