There are a lot of difforme type flowers in the Epidendrum genus. This one is native to southern Florida .
 
I've enjoyed this species since the first time I saw them growing in the Big Cypress Swamp of Collier Country, Florida. Of course someone came along and decided the Florida plants are a unique species, E. floridense! Currently I have the alba flowered form, a lovely plant.
 
Nice. I have a big one that I got from Mark LaRoque, probably from Florida. Can you post a photo of the whole plant. Also, does it smell like a combination of honeydew melon and cheese? :p
 
These tempted me, but if it's true, aren't hummingbirds attracted to this species? Doesn't do me much good if they're blooming this time of the year! :-(
