Begonia luxurians
Amid all the clown-faced streaks and spots on their leaves, palm leaf begonia stands apart from other members in the family with its elegant trim lines and subtle flowers. This Brazilian herb rarely gets above head height and is the perfect tender treasure to stand out in a jungly planting. Another option: our native Schefflera digitata, a handsome evergreen with a good shine to the leaves. For more drama, the octopus tree from Queensland ( Schefflera actinophylla) is a great specimen to disguise a high wall.
