(aka: Nolina microcarpa KJS279) This selection of the southwestern desert native bear grass, Nolina microcarpa comes from a Kenton Seth collection from the Oak Creek region, just north of Sedona, Arizona. This is the farthest north collection of Sacahuista bear grass we've ever offered. Nolina microcarpa is one of the larger, clumping bear grass species with amazing hardiness...we've seen it thriving at the mile-high Denver Botanic Gardens. The long, narrow, evergreen, grass-like leaves of Nolina microcarpa reach nearly 36" on this stately 6' wide specimen. The flower stalks emerge from the center of the clump to 5' in height and are covered with tiny white flowers in spring.
