    D. longissimum is the most spectacular of all of the sotols, and without spiny leaves. The magnificent specimen (5' tall x 5' wide in 10 years) is a fountain of thin pencil form, arching leaves to 3'...looking sort of like a car antenna after getting caught in a cheap carwash. We have been searching for a hardy strain, and hope this Yucca Do collection 53-43 from 7200' elevation in Nuevo Leon Mexico is the answer.
