Found in Sabah Borneo in oak forests at elevations of 1600 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphtye with erect, unbranched, leafy stems carrying spreading, rather thick and leathery, elliptic to narrowly oblong, acute, thickly keeled beneath, green with maroon spots in youth, soon becoming maroon with darker spots, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the spring and fall in cultivation on several, lateral along the basal nodes of the stem, erect to spreading, filiform becoming broader towards the rachis, wiry, maroon brown, green marked inflorescence with 3 small bracts at the base and another midway and floral bracts that face in all directions, crowded, triangular, thick, distinctly decurved, acute floral bracts and carrying successively single, short lived flowers.
