Common Name Curtis' Luisia [English Orchid Collector in Indonesia 1800's]

Flower Size .8" [2 cm] on trees in moist lowland forests as a medium to large sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with a non-branching, reclining to pendant stem carrying many, terete, obtuse leaves that blooms in the spring on a 1/2 to 1" [1.25 cm to 2.5 cm] long few [to 6] flowered inflorescence with ovate, obtuse floral bracts and carrying the flowers arranged in a spiral with only 1 to 2 open at any one time.

CAUTION There seem to be two forms that carry this name commonly and the references are split on which is correct. The first 2 photos are good for Seidenfaden and Comber, the second two photos are good for Chan/Wood and Vadhanaphutti, so use with caution. The fifth and sixth photos are what I had as L antennifera, but not. I need to see the type to be sure which or if all or none are correct.

Synonyms Luisia tristis Hkr.f 1891
