Common Name Gerland's Bulbophyllum

Flower Size 1" [2.5 cm]

Found in New Guinea in lowland forests at elevations of 250 to 1100 meters as a miniature to small sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with a rhizome with persistent bracts, .4 to 3.6" [1 to 9 cm] between each ovoid pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, erect, elliptic to obovate, rounded to obtuse apically, petiolate base leaf that blooms at most any time of the year on from the rhizome, 2.8" [7 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence. Bulbophyllum thecanthum has flowers of a similar shape, but with free lateral sepals"
