Flower Size 1.6 to 2" [4 to 5 cm]

Found in Java, Lesser Sunda Islands and Sumatra at elevations of 500 to 800 meters as a large to giant sized, warm growing epiphyte with an elongate stem that roots only at the base so the stem cannot be cut expecting new roots to arise. The stem has 2 rows of strap-shaped, tough, rigid, unequally bilobed apically, obtuse lobed, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the winter on several, axillary, to to 16" [40 cm] long, racemose, to 6 flowered inflorescence with shortly triangular, obtuse floral bracts and carrying fleshy, fragrant, long-lasting flowers.
