Cereus peruvianus 'Monstrosus'

Origin
The Agave montana originates from Mexico, specifically in the mountainous regions in the northeast of the country. It is a hardy agave that adapts to the altitude and the cold temperatures of its natural habitat.
Characteristics
The Agave montana has a unique, compact and spherical growth pattern. The plant consists of many thick, wide, serrated leaves that shape into a point. The colour varies from bright green to bluish grey. The Agave montana blooms only once in its life, a phenomenon known as 'monocarpic', with flower stalks up to 4 metres high.
Care
In the care of the Agave montana, it is important to ensure that the plant is in well-draining soil. This prevents root rot caused by overwatering. Although the plant is well-resistant to cold, it is advisable to protect the plant from extreme cold. The plant requires full sun to grow well, but can also survive in partial shade.
