NEW CHAPTER - NEW LINE UP - NEW MUSIC
Let Loose were acclaimed as the Boy Band who could actually play their instruments. They sold over a million records worldwide and had seven Top 30 hits between 1994-1997, of which three were top 10 singles. They appeared 11 times on the iconic Top Of The Pops. Their biggest hit ‘Crazy For You’ - stayed at Number 2 in the UK for weeks and became a 90’s anthem. It was only held off from the number spot by Wet Wet Wet's 'Love Is All Around'. 'Crazy For You' became one of the biggest selling singles of the 90's spending a total 21 weeks in the charts. Let Loose were named Best Newcomers of 1994 by The Sun newspaper, as well as much-missed pop magazine Smash Hits.
The next chapter for Let Loose started in late August 2023. Discussions between drummer Lee Murray and guitarist Rob Jeffrey took place and they approached former Bad Boys Inc frontman Matthew James Pateman to join them as singer as former lead singer Richie Wermerling had decided to quit the industry to pursue other paths.
Matthew's history in music began with Bad Boys Inc who had 6 chart singles between 1993/1994 including their top ten hit ‘More To This World’. Having toured extensively around the world, Bad Boys Inc split in 1995. Matthew continued to write and perform. He had a solo deal with Capitol Records/EMI. Performed in theatre and television. Plus spent 20 years in MADHEN who were internationally known as one of the UK’s most sort after party bands. They were the chosen band for the wedding of Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall.
The new Let Loose line up have already written and produced two new singles. The first released in 2023 ‘If The World Was Ending’ was well received by fans and media alike. The band have just released the follow up single 'Quicksand'. It was played at a recent London event to VIP's who have reacted positively to it. It was released on 26th April '24, with a promo video that you can find on VEVO/YouTube. The boys will continue to write, record and produce for a possible album in 2024.
Let Loose are currently a huge part of a documentary film about the music industry in the 90’s. Looking back on how it was then and how it is today. Filming has started and there has already been a buzz about it in both the tabloids and radio.
The band turned on the Christmas Lights in Hereford last year to a crowd of 4,000 people. 2 shows in London sold out within a few hours for this January! A total of 4 shows in London have set the ball rolling in 2024. There's a confirmed festival for 8,000 people happening this Summer. Butlins dates (90's weekenders) are in the diary. Plus there's plenty of other live dates coming in 2024 including Dingwall's in Camden this June, Three Wise Monkey's in Colchester in October and Chesham Fringe Festival in May on Bank Holiday weekend. The boys are planning some special VIP showcases too. Details to be released soon. The band have signed with Marshall Arts for all upcoming live work. As it's the 30th Anniversary of 'Crazy For You' in June, let's party like it's 1994!
