Cranberry Hibiscus (false Roselle, African Rosemallow)

Hibiscus acetosella

To 4-6 feet tall, full sun. A striking and colorful plant with red leaves that resemble a maple leaf, and pink flowers. It can be grown as a border or hedge plant – its dramatic purple leaves contrasting nicely with plants that have paler green leaves. Leaves are edible (can be eaten raw) and flowers can be used to make tea.
