Dendrobium mutabile (Blume) Lindl found in Kuningan Botanical Garden is one of the endemic orchid species of Java and Sumatra.
According to information shared by Kuningan Botanical Garden's Instagram account, Dendrobium mutabile (Blume) Lindl grows in humid forests at elevations up to 700 meters above sea level.
The characteristics of this orchid are small-sized, growing as epiphytes in warm to hot climates with slender, densely packed stems, thickening in the middle, erect to pendulous, often branching, red, wrinkled with age, with a stem length of 1 meter.
Other characteristics include green color, lanceolate leaves, tinged with purple underneath, with a leaf length of 7.5 cm and width of 2.5 cm.
Each flower cluster contains 4-15 flowers. Under ideal conditions, these orchid flowers bloom and can last up to 2 weeks.
For propagation, fern slab media can be used, with 60 percent sunlight exposure.
Fertilization is usually done 3 times a week, and watering is done in the morning and afternoon during the dry season.***
