Though tropical looking, this evergreen foliage plant is hardy to Z6, and solid green plants (rather than variegated) can be difficult to find. This clone is from Lois Himes, Harold Epstein’s gardener. Best in dappled shade or part sun. Showy red berries persist through winter in the center of dark green, upright vase-shaped leaves reaching up to 2' wide. Best with adequate moisture, quart pot.
