Rhynchospora colorata, also known as starrush whitetop, is a perennial sedge with white bracts. It's white flower blooms in the summer months of June, July, and August. It grows up to about 1 to 2 feet. It grows along with grass in wet-like conditions inditches and swales.

It is native to Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, as well as some of the Carribean islands.

The white bracts that appear on the plant are very appealing to pollinating insects, which is unlike the other plants in its family, who are pollinated by the wind.
