It comes from the Atlantic rainforest of the states of Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Santa Catarina in Brazil.
There it becomes 3 to 5m high, which makes it good for a pot culture.
In Brazil it has a fast growth and there it flowers already after 2 to 3 years.
It can withstand -3 degrees for a short time, but I would not overwinter it below 10 degrees.
It has the name "Sweet Winter Guamirim" because it bears fruit in winter.
