Welcome to Hydra Horticulture! All plants are propagated and grown in my home greenhouse in beautiful Portland, Oregon. I love growing things (especially carnivorous plants), and I often find I have too many plants and propagated babies. This shop is an easy way for me to offer some of my favorite plants to fellow growers. Hydra Horticulture holds a current nursery license with the Oregon Department of Agriculture as well as a shipping permit.

Pricing includes free priority shipping, premium media and potting materials, and satisfaction guaranteed.

My growing methods and the shop's values are based on the following:

-Grow with love! I believe that you get back what you put into the world, and this also holds true for growing. Each of these plants have been lovingly grown in the highest quality media. Some have been in my care for months or years in special conditions. Others can be rooted in just a few weeks. Whether you're purchasing a Coleus or a Cephalotus, you will get only the highest quality plant - and if you're not happy for any reason, I'll work with you to make it right.

-Use fertilizers and pesticides sparingly and safely. I rely on meticulous checking and a clean grow room for most plants, and only use pesticides when absolutely necessary. Only the healthiest propagations are selected for sale.
Note: Many of the carnivorous plants will contain springtails - these tiny bugs are beneficial and are a sign of healthy media.

-Aim to sustain! You might see all kinds of packing material from me because I do my best to re-use everything I can (and if it can be sanitized, it is). I do have to use some growing media such as peat moss that is not quite as environmentally friendly, but I am careful about buying from reputable sources committed to sustainability.

-Pricing includes free priority 2 day USPS shipping.

-I ship on Mondays to avoid any possibility of post office delays over the weekend. (However, I work full time and life sometimes happens, so this is subject to change.) Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any shipping questions or requests.
