The feline favorite. It does not have the same intoxicating effect on humans as it does on cats; humans drink it as a tea. Nepatalactone, which is what cats are attracted to, is also repellant to mosquitoes, flies, and aphids. The plant also contains iridodial which attracts Lacewings who in turn feed on aphids. The white flowers attract honey bees and butterflies. It grows well in most soils; reseeds. Protect plants from cats until established.

I am very pleased with this purchase and would definitely buy from this shop again. I feel the catnip plants survived so well because of the superior packing - the dirt remained in the containers and stayed moist to keep the plants hydrated. The sturdy box arrived dry and intact from USPS. I think the shop had a great plan about timing the shipment so the plants went through the mail system as quickly as possible and didn't arrive wilted and dying. I also appreciated the instructions for unpacking and planting. Thank you!
