'I never gave a s**t about what I looked like,' he said in the interview published on Monday.

Having only ever appeared in one campaign for the American fashion label, it was widely reported the billboard was responsible for traffic congestion and accidents by women drivers.

Though he insisted this was just a rumour, he added he feels he's been 'misunderstood' when it comes to the opposite sex, having been linked to Rachel Hunter and porn star Ceara Lynch.

'I’ve got a big heart and a little brain. But I love women being women, there’s something about their skin,' the currently-single actor flirted.

Travis is on the promotional circuit for his new film, Warcraft, based on the hugely popular online video game World Of Warcraft.

Set in the fictional world of Azeroth, the film tells the tale of the initial encounters between humans and orcs, showing both sides of the conflict.

Warcraft was originally set for release on December 18 last year, however its launch clashed with Star Wars: The Force Awakens and was subsequently postponed until June 2016.

Travis' History Channel series Vikings is now into its fourth season, where he stars as the lead role as Norse ruler Ragnar Lothbrok.
