A new species of Boesenbergia from northeast India is described and illustrated. Besides, the rediscovery of B. rotunda from India after a century is reported. In addition to morphology, data from anatomy, molecular biology and pollen morphology are also used.

On the IUCN status of Boesenbergia albolutea and B. rubrolutea (Zingiberaceae) and typification of B. rubrolutea2021 •
The present study comments on the conservation status of two species of the genus Boesenbergia, viz., B. albolutea and B. rubrolutea. The study also identified and designated the lectotype for B. rubrolutea.
Pollen morphology of 52 species (out of c. 79) of the Bomarea subgenus Bomarea was examined using light microscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), or using SEM alone. The studied species of Bomarea were stenopalynous, characterized by large, oblate, monosulcate monads with reticulate exine sculpture in most species. Wide variation was observed in quantitative palynological features. The studied taxa were divided into four major groups based on exine ornamentation observed under SEM: microreticulate, reticulate, coarsely rugulate, and psilate-perforate. The reticulate exine sculpture may be a plesiomorphic character state for the genus Bomarea, and the coarsely rugulate and finely rugulate-perforate or psilate-perforate exine sculptures may have evolved independently more than once. In agglomerative hierarchical clustering (AHC) analyses of the genus Bomarea using quantitative pollen data, the studied species were distributed in either two (similarity-based) or four (dissimilarity-based) major clusters. Neither the recent molecular phylogenetic analyses nor the AHC analyses of Bomarea have recovered clades/clusters that represent traditionally recognized subgeneric taxa for the genus. Therefore, the most reliable infrageneric classification of Bomarea can be achieved by combining morphological, palynological, and molecular data from more extentive sampling of all the species.

Boesenbergia quangngaiensis, a new species of Zingiberaceae from Quảng Ngãi Province in central Vietnam is described and illustrated. The species is similar to B. plicata, but can be distinguished by its leaves which are sessile or with short petioles, longer and sparsely pubescent ligules, elliptic lamina with pubescence on both surfaces, shorter bracts and bracteoles, suborbicular to oblong-obovate labellum with a deep red band at the centre, reddish-pink patch at the tip, short anther, and pubescent ovary. A key to the species of Boesenbergia in Vietnam is provided.
We present the first record of Boeica multinervia (Gesneriaceae) for India, based on specimens from Sagalee, Arunachal Pradesh, India. The species is easily recognized due to its short internodes, stoloniferous habit, and glandular pubescent rosette leaves and inflorescence. Boeica multinervia is so far known only from (Xizang) China. A brief description along with additional notes and photographs are provided.
