One New Species and Four New Records of Begonia (Begoniaceae) from BhutanBegonia menchunaensis P.Gyeltshen & M.Hughes is described from the cool broadleaved forest of Punakha District in Bhutan. It is assigned to Begonia sect. Diploclinium because it has a tuberous habit and bifid placentae, and is allied to B. picta. Based on its restricted distribution, Begonia menchunaensis is assessed as Critically Endangered under the IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria. Begonia picta, B. rex, B. roxburghii and B. xanthina are reported as new records for Bhutan.

Begonia arunachalensis (Begoniaceae), a new tuberous species of Begonia from Arunachal Pradesh, India2021 •
A new species, Begonia arunachalensis D.Borah & Wahlsteen (Begoniaceae) is described and illustrated. It is distributed in Papum Pare District of Arunachal Pradesh where it grows near streams in rock crevices. Begonia arunachalensis is similar to B. brevicaulis A.DC. but differs in its pendent fruits, number of locules and capsule wings, and longer lateral wings. It belongs to Begonia sect. Diploclinium.

Since 2016, KIB (Kunming Institute of Botany) and CPC (Centre for Plant Conservation of Vietnam) have conducted several surveys in the transboundary karst regions in Northern Vietnam and Southern China and seven new species in the genus Begonia Linn. (Begoniaceae) are firstly described. Amongst them, two species, Begonia albopunctata Y.M. Shui, W.H. Chen & H.Q. Nguyen and B. erectocarpa H.Q. Nguyen, Y.M. Shui & W.H. Chen, respectively belong to section Sphenanthera with berry fruits and section Leprosae with clavate berry fruits; four species, B. gulongshanensis Y.M. Shui & W. H. Chen, B. minissima H.Q. Nguyen, Y.M. Shui & W.H. Chen, B. mollissima Y.M. Shui, H.Q. Nguyen & W.H. Chen, B. rhytidophylla Y.M. Shui & W.H. Chen, belong to section Coelocentrum with parietal placentation; one species, Begonia bambusetorum H.Q. Nguyen, Y.M. Shui & W.H. Chen, belongs to section Diploclinium with 3-loculed ovary and capsules. The diagnostic characters of these species are described and illustra...

An updated checklist of Begonia (Begoniaceae) in Laos, with two new species and five new recordsTwo new species of Begonia L. (Begoniaceae), B. laotica (sect. Parvibegonia) and B. hypoleuca (sect. Reichenheimia), from north Laos are described and illustrated. Begonia augustinei, B. dryadis, B. lancangensis, B. sizemoreae and B. sillentensis subsp. mengyangensis were newly recorded taxa in Laos. Furthermore, an updated checklist of Begonia of Laos is also compiled.

Begonia nangunheensis belonging to Begonia sect. Platycentrum is described and illustrated as a new species in Caryota obtusa forests in Yunnan province of China. It is similar to Begonia siamensis in 3-winged fruits, 2-loculed ovary and axile placentation with 2 segments per locule, but differs in its glabrous petiole and abaxial leaf-blade, ovate outer tepals and oblanceolate to narrowly obovate inner tepals of staminate flower, and the unequal pistillate tepals. The new species is assigned to Critically Endangered according to the guidelines of IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria (version 13).
Begonia giganticaulis, a huge new species in Begonia sect. Platycentrum of Begoniaceae from southern Xizang (Tibet) of China, is described. Morphologically, it is mostly similar to B. longifolia and B. acetosella, but clearly differs from the former mainly by its dioecious and taller plants, sparse hairs on abaxial veins, longer inflorescence, unique shape of fruits, and differs from the latter mainly by its late and longer flowering time, 6-tepals of female flower and 3-loculed ovary. The phylogenetic analyses also support the separation of the new species from other taxa. Based on the current data, its conservation status is assigned to Endangered (B2a) according to the IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria.
Our research is conducted to propose a general framework for face detection based on the multiaspect properties of face in terms of color and geometric features. By using simple yet human-like capabilities approach, the process of detection although is simple and easy to understand but it has promising performance that make our intelligent framework can be applied in various computing devices. The research target is directed to create a generative approach for detecting multiple faces in various in size, position and illumination including in complex scene. Our framework consist of three phases which each phase is dynamically selected depends on the image situation. Implementation of the framewonk is realized by generating algorithm that we called Dewa, which has been successfully applied, not only in personal computer but also in small device such as PDA. Keywords: face detection multiple faces, complex scene, image processing
