Suriname cherry (Eugenia uniflora/ Pitanga) is a native of South America. The mature plants produce at least two crops a year. The fruits are sweet-tart, and the tree is relatively low maintenance. The tree thrives in pots and in the ground. However, it has a spreading habit. You may need an additional variety for pollination and fruit set to occur. Add compost twice yearly. Water twice weekly.
