Hedychium coronarium, also known as white garland lily or white Ginger Lily is a rhizomatous tender flowering plant in the Ginger family, Zingiberaceae, native to the Eastern Himalayas and widely cultivated Asia. It grows 4 to 6 feet in one growing season and the butterfly shaped, snow-white flowers will fill your garden with sweet fragrance throughout the last summer and fall. Great for borders, or containers. Hardy in zones 8-11, but can be brought in out of the freezing weather in the winter for storage.
