Narrow-leaved bedstraw.

Seen budding in mid-April on the west fork of Cold Spring.

Square stem, whorled leaves with 4 in a whorl (actually, 2 opposite leaves and 2 bracts, but it looks like 4 whorled leaves), small white blooms emerging from the whorls. The leaves are only slightly thinner than those of common bedstraw, but there are only 4 of them.
