Aloe reitzii
Many South African Aloe species flower in winter, and seeing hundreds of plants lighting up the landscape is a wonderful treat when visiting that part of the world during the winter months (it is worth noting for those in the Northern Hemisphere that this occurs at the opposite time of year from winters north of the equator). However, there are stunning aloes to be found flowering at other times of the year, such as Aloe reitzii, from the northeastern part of the country, which comes into flower at the end of summer.
