Aloe niebuhriana

There are quite a few beautiful species of Aloe native to the Arabian Peninsula, including this one, from Yemen. The plant closely resembles its relative Aloe lavranosii, except that the latter species has long hairs on its flowers, while A. niebuhriana only has very short hairs, like peach fuzz. While lavranosii always flowers in summer, A. niebuhriana flowers in the fall or winter (at least here in Walnut Creek, California).
