Taxonomy: Fam. Poaceae// Genus: Cleistogenes// Species: Cleistogenes serotina (L.) Keng// Subspecies: Cleistogenes serotina (L.) Keng subsp. serotina.

Determined according to the botanical key provided in Flora Europaea Vol. 5 (Tutin et al., 1980).

Lifeform: Perrenial; hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native from South and Central Europe to Central Asia according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat: Open and dry habitats- dry grasslands, rocky terrains – cultivated land, rice fields, roadsides, in and near settlements and other ruderal areas.

Flowering period: Fall: SEP.
