Determined according to the botanical key provided in Flora Europaea Vol. 5 (Tutin et al., 1980).

Lifeform: Perrenial; Hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Distribution: Native to Canary Islands, Northwest Africa, Europe to Iran according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Habitat:  Sparse woods.

Flowering period: Spring (MAR, APR).
