PLANT DESCRIPTION

Evergreen shrub 2-4 m tall or small tree to 7 m young leaves pink to bronze or dark red, mature leaves dark green, opposite, simple, ovate to lanceolate 2-7 cm long, 1.5-3 cm wide, apex obtuse to shortly acuminate flowers creamy white, fragrant fruit succulent, pendulous berry, 2-4 cm in diameter, depressed-globose, conspicuously 8-ribbed, commonly containing 1-3 seeds, though it can have a single large seed or up to 7 small seeds.
