Abstract
Liparis is a large genus with 250 terrestrial or epiphytic members, which are distributed worldwide. Terrestrial species grow in damp locations in semi-shade. Epiphytic species generally possess pseudobulbs and temperate terrestrial species, have subterranean storage organs but some tropical species lack both.
