Abstract
It is a small genus consisting of five terrestrial, sometimes saxicolous, species of leafy herbs occurring in Indo-Malesia and Australia. Stems are cylindrical, fleshy, ensheathed by the bases of leaf petioles and rooting at the bases. Leaves are elliptic, plicate, thin-textured. Inflorescence is terminal, erect, unbranched, racemose, bearing numerous small, green, yellow, brown-pink or purple flowers arranged in rows around the axis (Chen and Wood 2009).
