Quick Overview:

This elegant selection of Agave montana forms a 2-3 foot wide mature clump of broad, glaucous blue-green leaves. Each toothed leaf has a terminal black spine which can be trimmed back if desired. It is most often seen a a solitary rosette since it produces offsets very slowly. ‘Baccarat’ was named for the fine crystal because of the unique silver bud imprints on the reverse side of the leaves. The bud imprints mimic the patterns in the fine crystal. This plant was selected by Yucca Do Nursery in 1997 on a trip to Nuevo Leon Province in Mexico. Agave typically flower only once every 15-25 years and the main crown dies after blooming.

Description

Agave are extremely drought tolerant. They won’t need water once established. The key to success with Agave is to plant them in very dry locations with at least 6 hours of full sun a day. They don’t necessarily need well drained soil but the soil should tend to stay dry.
