Distribution and Habitat

Moora to Young River, growing in sandy-clay soils in woodlands and shrublands.

Description

A clump forming, inland subspecies 300–600 mm high with a hairy leaf 120–250 mm long by 5–15 mm wide and up to three large, creamy-white flowers 80–120 mm across. It intergrades with the smaller-flowered Southern White Spider Orchid (Caladenia longicauda subsp. australora) near the coast.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the subsp. longicauda, with which it sometimes co-occurs at the western edge of its distribution, by its larger flowers, usually broader sepals and broader labellum.
