Notes

This is a ground orchid popularly known as butterfly orchid. It is  commonly  seen in south Indian western Ghat hills especially in the Brahmagiri, Tadiandamol and Talakaveri forest areas.Flowering starts during the October and november months. It is a annual herb flowering lasts within a week or 10 days. The photo credit goes to my student Vivek and my supporting staff Mr. Sajan Poovanna. The information and photography was made during trecking along with III year B.Sc.(Forestry) students of college of Forestry Ponnampet, UAS, Bangalore.
