Tell Me More...
Also known as Water Spearmint or Hart's Pennyroyal this is a clump forming aromatic member of the Mint family which grows extremely well in wet ground or as a pond marginal. This semi-evergreen, clump forming perennial grow to between 30-40cm tall and has slender, lance-shaped aromatic leaves accompanied by spherical puffs of lilac flowers carried at intervals along the upright flower stems in late Summer to Autumn. With an ultimate height of 50cm in 2-5 years Mentha cervina will delight you with its easy and enthusiastic style. This is the 'mintiest' of all water mints and is less invasive than its cousin Mentha aquatica which is a huge bonus once it has established itself. Mentha cervina is a nectar rich, fully hardy edging plant for your pond or bog garden which will thrive in full sun or part shade.
