    This species is also sometimes called Cymbidium grandiflorum, although the Catalogue of Life considers this an illegal name as it is already used as a synonym for Cleistes grandiflora. Several older hybrids are named based on this taxon (i.e. Cym. Lowio-grandiflorum).
