Maianthemum racemosum (Smilacina racemosa). A delight for those who love the subtle combination of green and white. Plants from a very slowly spreading clump of graceful arching stems which zig-zag from leaf to leaf along stems up to 60cm long. Flowers are terminal, a dense bottle brush of small starry white flowers. Requires shade and a soil that doesn’t dry out in Summer. Dislikes Lime and would really like an acid soil. Great when grown with ferns. To get berries , which were once used to treat snakebites, requires more than one individual for pollination.

False Solomon’s Seal, False Spikenard, Solomon’s Feather, Solomon’s Plume, Solomon’s Zigzag, Treacleberry, Wild Spikenard
