Xyris spp (Yellow Eyed Grass), Washington Parish

Delightful yellow flowers attract small bees and are followed by an interesting seed head that persists through winter. Foliage resembles that of an iris. Seed head are great for dried flower arrangements. Needs consistently moist soils; suitable for rain gardens. *Xyris are notoriously difficult to key down to the species level; this is like Xyris floridana but could be another species. 1 gallon pot
