Not to be confused with: Russian People’s Liberation Army (RONA), a brigade of the Waffen-SS.
Russian Liberation Army (ROA) – a Russian armed formation in German service, created on December 27, 1942. From November 1944, it was subordinated to the Committee for the Liberation of the Peoples of Russia. General Andrei Vlasov became the commander-in-chief of the ROA. After his surname, the soldiers of this formation were colloquially called Vlasovtsy.
