These seeds were collected from Rubus leucodermis, also known as Black Raspberry. These shrubs can grow up to 6 feet high and have white blossoms. The delicious fruit can be eaten raw, cooked, or dried and saved for the winter. The leaves can be used to brew a tea, and the young shoots can be pealed and cooked and eaten as a vegetable. The fruit can also be used to make a blue dye. Rubus, in general, are larval host plants for the Echo Azure butterfly and the Strawberry Crown Moth, and they are also a food source for the Appalachian Tiger Swallowtail butterfly, and the Slender clearwing moth. USDA Hardiness Zones 5 to 11.
