This beautiful flower is Eucalyptus rameliana (Ramel's Mallee), endemic to a very small area in central Western Australia. It is so perfectly shaped that it reminds me of a cocktail glass with cool lime drink inside - wouldn't it be nice to have on a hot Australian summer night?
Fun fact about this photo: originally the flower was facing to the right, but when I received a test print on a stretched canvas, the flower was facing up - I liked it even more, and that's how the idea of a glass was actually born. When this photo got accepted into City of Belmont Art Awards exhibition in May 2021, I printed it again in a bigger size, and guess what?.. It was framed so the flower was facing down! I was laughing and had to move the screws. I guess you can hang this beautiful piece of Australian nature as you feel right for you (and turn it around periodically so it doesn't get boring) :)
It is the same piece that was printed for the exhibition, with the custom made shadow frame in black timber. It looks best on a dark grey or black wall as it really makes the bright flower to pop, but it would also suit a room in light colours with some black elements.
