POPE CO., Ark. (KTHV) - A judge in the Pope County Circuit Court has granted a request to set the bond of a man accused of murdering then crushing two men in September 2016.

According to court documents, Judge David Laser of Jonesboro issued a bond for Tyler Barefield in the amount of $850,000. Laser came to the decision after hearing arguments from both the defense and prosecution.

Barefield was arrested after police were called by Barefield himself for "suspicious activity" at his family's U-Pull-It Auto salvage yard. Once on scene, police found blood dripping from a crushed car in the salvage yard. Inside the crushed vehicle they found the bodies of Aaron Brock and Beau DeWitt.

Police clarified that the two were not killed by being crushed, but rather from gunshot wounds.

The River Valley Leader reported that Laser ordered Barefield to wear an electronic monitoring device if he posts bond and would only be allowed to travel a 75 mile radius outside of Russellville. Additionally, Barefield would have to surrender his passport.

Judge Laser also granted a new trial date for the Barefield case. The trial was set to begin on Tuesday, March 21, but was moved to June 12, 2017.
