Common Name The Constricted Odontoglossum
Flower Size 1 1/2" [3.75 cm]
Found in Venezuela, Colombia and Ecuador at elevations of 1800 to 2300 meters as a medium sized, cool to cold growing epiphytic species with ovoid, ancipitous, light green pseudobulbs bsally enveloped by 6 to 7 distichous,, uppermost foliaceous sheaths and carrying 1 to 2, apical, elliptic to obovate, subacute or acute, conduplicate below into the subpetiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall, winter and spring on an axillary, suberect to subpendent, 20" [50 cm] long at largest, straight to weakly flexuous, racemose or paniculate with a few weakly flexuous, 2 to 3 flowered branches, many flowered inflorescence arising from a mature pseudobulb's leaf bearing sheaths that has ovate-triangular, acute bracts and carries fragrant, stellate to slightly campanulate flowers.
