Found in the Annamalai Hills of India at elevations around 1000 meters as a miniature sized [in bloom], warm to cool growing terrestrial with ovate-oblong tubers giving rise to an erect stem carrying 2, spreading, ovate-lanceolate, acute-acumiante spically, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect, terminal, to 6.4” [16 cm] long, laxly many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acuminate, deflexed floral bracts and carrying green, long pedicelate flowers.

Joseph 1987 in Orchids of Nilgiris mentions that L prazeri and L deflexa are close to this species and may be conspecific. If so then this species takes precedence. More research needs to be done here.
