Found in Guyana, Venezuela and Brazil in wet forests along rivers at elevations of 50 to 200 meters as a medium to large sized, hot growing epiphyte with tall, thin, erect, fusiform pseudobulbs concealed basally by grey sheaths and carrying several, linear, distichous, plicate, bright green leaves that are articulated to the leaf sheaths below that blooms in the spring and fall on a terminal, erect then nodding, to 5" [12.5 cm] long, few to several flowered, racemose inflorescence with several long-lasting, fragrant flowers held above the leaves and arising on older leafless, as well as newer, pseudobulbs.
The First photo is a positive ID to the drawing by Dunsterville in Venezuelan Orchids Vol 2 Dunsterville & Garay 1961, the second I can not be sure.
