Rhizome creeping, sheathing. Pseudobulbs close together or to c. 1 cm apart, obliquely ovoid, quadrangular, the sides 1-grooved, c. 1.25-1.5 cm long; the sides 0.75 cm wide. Leaf lanceolate to oblong-elliptic, acute; base shortly petiolate-contracted, above convex; midrib above grooved, underneath obtuse prominently, coriaceous, c. 2.7-7.2 by 1.15-1.8 cm wide. Inflorescences from the base of the pseudobulbs and from the nodes of the rhizome. Inflorescences 1-flowered, c. 3.7 cm long; peduncle thinits base with a few tubular, acuminate sheaths. Floral bract tubular, subulate-acuminate, 0.6 cm long. Flower large. Median sepal lanceolate-linear, concave; base on either side covered by the margins of the lateral sepals; upper half linear-caudate, c. 3.9 by 0.48 cm; nerves 3, dorsally prominent. Lateral sepals obliquely linear-lanceolate, concave, c. 3.9 by 0.6 cm; upper half linear-caudate; nerves 3 dorsally prominent. Petals long but much smaller than the sepals, narrowly attached, narrowly obspathulate, 0.88 cm long; base dilated, obcordate, 0.15 cm wide, at the back with two broad semiorbicular, backwards pointing lobules; top part linear-filiform-caudate, its base 0.04 cm wide; nerve 1. Lip immobile, large, narrowly lanceolate, long linear-caudate, almost flat, in total c. 3.65 cm long; lower part narrowly lanceolate, c. 2 by 0.5 cm, its base narrowed, concave, with 2 minute, incurved auricles; tail 0.9 cm, terete, with the apex slightly compressed; underneath with close, wing-like keels. Column curved, almost 0.3 cm long, clinandrium on either side 3-dentate; stigma longitudinal, linear; column-foot short, wart-shaped. Anther cucullate, conical-acuminate, 0.08 cm long. Ovary 6-grooved, 0.4 cm long; pedicel c. 5.7 cm long, articulate 0.6 cm above the base. (& Smith 1916) (After Smith, 1911)


Sepals white marked blue-violet. Lip light yellow, to the base brown-red.

Epiphyte in lowland forest; 75 m.
